Are Redragon Keyboards Good? (The Good and Bad)

You must be in a shop for gaming peripherals, and you have seen Redragon keyboards. But you are wondering whether Redragon keyboards are good or not?

Answer: Yes, Redragon keyboards are worth considering if you’re looking for a decent-quality, budget-friendly keyboard. Not only do they offer great value for the price point, but their keyboards are also durable and feature many of the same features as more expensive models.

Redragon is a company that produces computer peripherals, including keyboards. They have a wide variety of keyboard models available, at different price points. So, whether you’re looking for a budget option or something more high-end, they likely have a keyboard that will fit your needs.

To know more about the good and bad sides of Redragon keyboards, read on.

Good Things about Redragon Keyboards

Competitive Pricing

Redragon Keyboards are one of the most popular brands on the market, and for good reason. Not only are they known for their beautiful keyboard designs, but they also offer great value for the price.

In fact, Redragon Keyboards are often lauded for their competitive pricing, making them a great option for budget-conscious shoppers. In addition, for people who love typing or gaming on a mechanical keyboard, Redragon is a great option.

The company offers a wide variety of mechanical keyboard models at different price points, so you can find one that fits your budget. Many users report that Redragon’s mechanical keyboards are decent for the price and offer a good typing experience.

Good Design

Designers put a lot of thought into the products they create. They consider the function of the product, who will be using it, and how it will fit into the larger ecosystem.

For a designer, the process is iterative, with each new iteration bringing the product closer to perfection. The same is true for Redragon Keyboards; the company puts a lot of thought into the design of its keyboards.

From the layout of the keys to the materials used, everything is carefully considered. This attention to detail results in a keyboard that is not only stylish but also functional. The keys are easy to press and the overall layout is comfortable to use.

The majority of Redragon Keyboards Have Beautiful RGB lighting

Amongst the many great things about Redragon Keyboards, one of the best is the beautiful RGB lighting.

Whilst some may argue that it is a pointless addition, many others will find it difficult to deny that keyboards with RGB lighting built-in look much more visually appealing than those without. Furthermore, RGB lighting can also be used for practical purposes, such as helping to indicate which keys have been pressed or which keys remain unpressed.

In any case, the bottom line is that the RGB lighting on Redragon Keyboards is one of their best features.

Have a Very Functional Software

Most people think that the only reason to buy a Redragon keyboard is for gaming purposes. And while it’s certainly true that Redragon makes some of the best gaming keyboards on the market, there’s another big selling point that often gets overlooked: the software.

Many Redragon keyboards come with a very functional software suite that includes everything from macro programming to backlighting customization.

For serious PC users, this kind of functionality can be a game-changer. Whether you’re looking to boost your productivity or take your gaming to the next level, a Redragon keyboard with robust software support can be just what you need.

So, don’t overlook this important feature when shopping for your next keyboard. Chances are, a Redragon keyboard has exactly what you’re looking for.

What I don’t like about Redragon Keyboards

Most Keyboards Use ABS Keycaps

ABS Keycaps on Redragon Keyboard

Of course, no keyboard is perfect, and there are a few things that I don’t like about Redragon keyboards. One of the biggest complaints I have is that most of their keyboards use ABS keycaps.

ABS stands for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, which is a type of plastic. It’s not as durable as PBT or other types of plastics, and it’s also more prone to yellowing over time.

The keycaps on Redragon keyboards are made from ABS, so they’re not as durable as I would like. This means that they’re more likely to get damaged or worn down over time, which is something I don’t want to deal with. However, for the price point, I don’t think this is a huge issue for most people.

Non-Detachable Power Cable

Another minor complaint I have is that the power cable on most Redragon keyboards is not detachable. With a non-detachable power cable, you’re stuck with whatever Redragon gives you.

But with a detachable power cable, you can easily replace it if it gets damaged or you simply want to upgrade to a better one. And in my opinion, they could definitely do better.

The other downside of the non-detachable power cable is that it makes it difficult to transport the keyboard. You have to be careful not to damage the cable when packing it up for travel.

Rattily Stabilizers

Rattily Stabilizers issues on Redragon Keyboard

Another thing that I don’t like about Redragon Keyboards is that their stabilizers are ratty.

What I mean by that is that when you press a key, you can feel and hear a slight rattle in the key. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s enough to be noticeable and slightly annoying.

For me, it takes away from the overall quality feel of the keyboard. Additionally, it makes the keys feel less stable and less precise.

Overall, I think that Redragon could improve the quality of its keyboards by addressing this issue with its stabilizers.

Should You Buy A Redragon Keyboard?

With all things I have said above, you probably have an idea already if a Redragon keyboard is for you or not.

If you’re looking for a decent quality, budget-friendly keyboard, then I would say that Redragon is definitely worth considering.

They make some of the best budget keyboards on the market, and they have a lot to offer in terms of features and functionality. However, if you’re looking for the absolute best quality keyboard, then I would say that Redragon is probably not the right brand for you.

There are other brands out there that make better-quality keyboards. But overall, I think that Redragon makes great keyboards and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good keyboard for both gaming and productivity.
